Slo-mo-shun V

Built in 1951, the Slo-mo-shun V was designed with a wider beam for better acceleration on the race course.  In the hull’s first appearance at the Gold Cup, the Slo-mo-shun V easily won with Fageol at the wheel. He would win the 1953 President’s Cup  and became the first Rolls Royce-Merlin powered hydroplane to win a race at the 1954 Gold Cup. In the boat’s last appearance for the Sayers team, Lou Fageol completed a 360 degree flip ending his driving career.
